Forged in Clay!

Here we have another selection of the original polymer clay sculpts crafted for Jamey Stegmaier's board game: Tapestry - from Stonemaier Games.

The first of, here, is the Treasury...

Shown alongside a few of the other Landmark buildings found within the game...

Below is the Lighthouse; showing various stages of its construction...

Here, to the far right, is shown the Wainwright, before its transformation into the Armoury that is found in the game...

And here is the Forge, one of my favourite pieces - I am particularly happy with the way this one turned out ...

I'll be throwing up more snaps of the sculpts shortly; keep your eyes peeled.

In the meantime, check out this trailer for Tapestry ;) ...

The Home of Tomes

Here we have a few shots of the original sculpt for the Library found in the board game Tapestry from Stonemaier Games.

Unlike most sculpts created for casting, all of the Landmark buildings sculpted for Tapestry were built in full colour using different shades of polymer clay.

This made it easy for colour matching the various areas when it came to painting the casts ... but certainly added a bit of time to the sculpting process :D

The Library, shown alongside the Apothecary, Barracks and Bakery, also found in Tapestry...

I'll be putting further pics of my various Tapestry sculpts up soon.

The Smaller Stitches!

Her are some of the smaller pieces I sculpted for the Tapestry board game from Stonemaier Games.

Each is about 16mm tall or so, so certainly not as large the other Landmark buildings in the set - but each player does get 20 of them - 5 in each colour - to play with.

Here are some shots of the casts from the game - these are not painted, but cast in various colours of plastic; shown below are the Farms and Armouries:

...and the Markets and Houses:

...and here are some snaps of the original sculpts, created in polymer clay:

An aerial view showing them among the Landmark builds:

More pics posted soon.

The Changeable Tapestries

Here are some more sculpts I created for the soon to be available Tapestry board game from Stonemaier Games.

These two have a bit of a story ... they began as one type of structure, but due to the changeable nature of board game rule design, they ended up as something else ... having to both undergo slight sculptural changes.

The first one here was originally created to be a Workshop...

...and this was to be a Wainwright...

The Workshop though, after a bit of a nip-tuck, became the bustling new Bakery that is found in the game...

...and the Wainwright, transformed into the Barracks we see here, also found in the game...

I must say, it was a bit scary taking to a finished piece (as they are baked solid) with a scalpel, and then re-sculpting various parts and adding additional detailing  ... but it was quite an enjoyable challenge on the whole - and one I was pretty sure I was up for.
The final results I am very happy with.

These two were the only sculpts that actually were required to become different types of buildings during the creation of the rule-set ... but they were not the only ones I (due to my own personal preference) performed nerve wracking adjustments upon during creation, ha ha :D

More snaps coming soon.

More of the Tapestry Revealed

Some more of the Tapestry has come to light!

I can now reveal some of the figurines I created for Tapestry - from Stonemaier Games - found within the box, and a few more game components too...

The various buildings - cast in durable plastic and carefully hand painted.

All at home in their handy insert.

Each player has their own board where their Capital City takes shape.

The various miniatures - shown on the back of the box.

The board from whence the structures can be claimed.

I'll be posting photos of my original sculpts over the next several days ... so feel free to check back here if you'd like to see what was sent to Panda to undergo the casting process.

In fact, here's a peek at one now - the original Apothecary sculpt... :)

Note: the colouring on the casts in the game are not exactly as per the original sculpts - they are very close - but slight adjustments had to be made in production for various reasons. The actual colours themselves are a match - but the colours of certain areas may vary ... for example, the items on the small Apothecary bench (in the casts) are brown, not grey as shown here in the sculpt.

More pics to come ;)
